The family behind "The Blind Side" has written a book about its experiences.

For the first time, the remarkable couple depicted in The Blind Side tells their own deeply inspiring story
First came the bestselling book, then the Oscar-nominated movie—the story of Michael Oher and the family who adopted him has become one of the most talked-about true stories of our time. But until now, Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy have never told this astonishing tale in their own way and with their own words.
For Leigh Anne and Sean, it all begins with family. Leigh Anne, the daughter of a tough-as-nails U.S. Marshal, decided early on that her mission was to raise children who would become "cheerful givers."

Also attending the Nashville Rising event wearing Gypsy Soule was Collins Tuohy, subject of The Blind Side. The 2009 American drama–sports film, The Blind Side, was directed and written by John L. Hancock. The movie is based on the 2006 book The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game by Michael Lewis. The storyline features Michael Oher, an offensive lineman who plays for the Baltimore Ravens of the NFL. Collins is his adoptive sister. The Blind Side was nominated for Best Motion Picture by the Academy Awards and has received numerous accolades by leading actress Sandra Bullock, for her role as Collins' mother Leigh Anne Tuohy.

The couple whose story inspired the best-selling book and hit movie "The Blind Side" made it clear this week that changing a young person's life is more than blind luck.
"Michael was sent to us," Sean Tuohy said at an Omaha-areaevent. "We just weren't stupid enough to turn our backs."
"He was so close to falling through the cracks," added Leigh Anne Tuohy. "I don't sleep at night whenI think about it."

Their story was the inspiration for a big screen hit that landed Sandra Bullock an Oscar as Best Actress.
But the Tuohy family is using the fame that came along with "The Blind Side" to spread a powerful message; Everyone has the power to change a life the way they helped change Michael Oher.
