ABOUT THIS PROJECT:
When a foster child goes off to college, he/she may not have anyone who can help them purchase items necessary to transition into this new phase. Making It Happen Foundation decided to provide a suitcase filled with household items necessary to begin life in a dorm or first apartment. Such items included a comforter, sheets, pillows, towels, extension cord, light bulbs, dishes and many more. These items are often overshadowed by larger ticket items such as tuition, books and a computer.
We would like to extend thanks to The Junior League of Cedar Rapids for sharing this concept with us! It's something that anyone can do and doesn't require a huge investment.
