The Making It Happen Foundation was responsible for purchasing the Douglass High School Track uniforms. It is a misconception that city schools are given an athletic budget large enough to cover all sports. Usually the cost of football and basketball alone will wipe out most budgets. Without outside funding it would not be possible for most schools to have uniforms for secondary sports. In track if you do not have matching uniforms you can not participate in relays. This year because of the donation from the Making It Happen Foundation the Douglass High School girls 4 by 200 relay placed 6th in state track meet which would not have been possible without the uniforms.
