Kai

Kai is 11 years old and lives in Mississippi. She is a sweet and sensitive girl who gets along well with others. She describes herself as fun and friendly. Kai does well in school and likes sports, especially basketball. She wants to be a professional basketball player when she grows up. She says she would like a nice family with a mom and a dad. That statement breaks my heart. A mom and a dad…seems pretty simple. Kai would like to be adopted with her older sister, Emerald. Life with a forever family would be a good life according to Kai. She will do well in a home with abundant love and reassurance. Can you help? For more information please contact [email protected].

Forever Family Friday week 45 – Anthony, Jonathan, Isabella

Every family is different…some have one child, some have 6 children, and some have furry pets as children. Then of course, some families are a combination of each in all types of various forms! What I do know is children bring life and love into a home. They bring curiosity, wonder and adventure. To have siblings….to have support, commonality, familiarity and someone to talk to….is a treasure. Please consider these precious siblings. Anthony, Jonathan and Isabella from California. They could bring all this and more into your home!

Anthony is 13 who has lots of energy and loves the outdoors. He has a great deal of love to offer. Although he can seem very shy at first, he will become friendly as he gets to know you. Jonathan is 11 and is charismatic with a bright smile. He is gentle, sweet and playful. He loves to play football and basketball. He tries really hard to get good grades and is helpful and conscientious around the house. Jonathan is a good artist and his favorite movie is Star Wars. Isabella is 8 and is an adorable little girl with a wonderful imagination. She is creative and enjoys the arts. She is funny, social, engaging and friendly. Like a true princess she enjoys being the center of attention (insert twirl and pixie dust!) She is versatile in that she is happy to play flag football outside with her brothers, but equally content having a tea party with dolls.

Akiemah

Akiemah is from Indiana and is 11 years old. She has a big smile that lights up a room, Akiemah is a great kid with a funny sense of humor. She likes to stay active, preferring to ride her bike, rollerblade or play basketball and likes football as well. The more active she can be, the better! Music is very important to Akiemah – if she could, she’d have the radio on all day…and probably be singing along! When she grows up saving animals or being a police officer are on her list!

As with most children, consistency will be important when it comes to new routines. Parents will have to be persistent about building up a level of trust with Akiemah, in a family that is calm, understanding, and creates structure where she can thrive. “Belonging” to Akiemah is defined as being comfortable. Can you help Akiemah feel comfortable and have a sense of belonging? For more information please contact Denise Donaldson, Adoption Consultant [email protected]

Forever Family Friday week 41 – Kamora and Sirryon

There is one thing that I have realized about all these kids on our Forever Family Friday journey…they all just want to be loved. Is that too much to ask? They want safety and security and a happily ever after. Yes dealing with kids, all kids, whether they are foster or biological or adopted or whatever, it can be exhausting and challenging and even at times difficult, but the good out weighs the bad! Trust me! It is an honor and a privilege for me to get to talk about these kids each week and to pray for them by name. My hope is that each child we post is happy and healthy and finds a safe and loving family. How great would that be? We need you. These kids are all of our responsibilities. It takes a village. I know we all think they are cute and we feel sad for them but we need more than emotions – we need action. I need you to share these kids with your family and friends and coworkers. Help us make a difference in the lives of Kamora and Sirryon.

Please meet Kamora, 12 and Sirryon, 7 who live in California. The sisters are similar in their dynamic personalities and are definitely close at heart! They are natural born leaders that tend to draw in everyone they meet! Kamora is friendly and sociable and loves cheerleading. She hopes to get into gymnastics and loves being creative with art. Sirryon is an engaging and vibrant little girl with a wit that will make you smile. She is very sweet and her laughter is contagious. She likes arts and crafts and like her sister, is interested in gymnastics. One day she would like to work at “The Happiest Place on Earth.” That is music to my ears! Disney would be lucky to have her! The sisters have an enthusiasm about life and each other. Oh imagine the light and energy they could add to your family!! Please contact Stephanie at [email protected] or 909-802-1441 for more information. Photo: I Belong Project

Forever Family Friday week 40 – Bentley

Mentoring…it is so so important and could be a game changer for so many. Historically we have not talked much about it but I feel strongly that investing in young people is key. These kids deserve to be seen, known and loved…just like you and me! For children in foster care, they often feel alone and disconnected. They don’t have strong family relationships so often the social worker is the most important person in their life. This is where mentoring comes in. Another person in the child’s life. A person that is reliable, dependable and consistent. There are great organizations such as Big Brother/Big sister, Boys and Girls Club and CASA Volunteers…just to name a few… that are making a difference everyday! There are so many ways you can mentor and get involved with these foster kids. I’ve said it so many times that just liking and sharing this post and talking about these kids is a start. Please consider investing and mentoring a foster child. Be the reason a foster child starts to believe in their worth and their value. Consider someone like sweet Bentley.

Bentley is 10 years old and from Arizona and is very passionate about everything he does. He loves to be outside playing, riding his bike and doing karate. He is a big fan of rap music and will even rap a few bars for you if ask! Bentley loves McDonald’s- especially the Hot ‘n Spicy McChicken sandwich. One of Bentley’s biggest dreams is to one day own a McDonald’s just so he can know how to make them! I might have to try to get him on the Taco Bell train. He also has aspirations of being the mayor someday, after getting out of the armed services. Wow!

Bentley has his sights set high and simply needs someone to consistently love and care for him to help get him there! His forever family should be supportive and encouraging continuing relationships. Please contact Heather Pava at [email protected] for more information!

Mistee

Mistee is 14 and from Idaho. She is energetic, spunky, outgoing, and creative. She appreciates the finer arts of dancing, singing and acting. Though Mistee isn’t currently on a dance team, she would really like to join one. She is very proud to be a part of her school’s drama club and debate team. If Mistee could travel anywhere in the world she would go to Paris and Hollywood. Mistee shared that she really appreciates her current foster mom teaching her how to become a young lady and helping her calm down when things can upset her. She’s a resilient girl yet wants a family that will be understanding of her trauma and extend patience to her every day, and preferably a family that enjoys cake just as much as she does. Do you have a current home study and think that you could provide her with the Forever Home she deserves? For more info please contact Melissa at [email protected]

Evan

Evan is 15 years old and lives in Georgia. He is respectful and sweet with a smile that will light up a room. During his photo shoot he worked really hard to keep his button-down wrinkle-free and clean, despite making pizza and painting. He enjoys spending time with others, swimming, playing basketball, listening to music, and playing and watching football. At school his favorite subject is science. Evan enjoys spending time with his friends. He needs a loving adoptive family who will give him the acceptance, attention, support, encouragement, structure and nurturing environment he needs to continue to thrive. Are YOU the perfect family for Evan?
